The following video is of me playing the transcription “Perhaps” from the Charlie Parker Omnibook. This is the first transcription that I have my private students play from the Omnibook (obviously, at much slower tempo). Once they learn the notes and rhythms with a basic swing style, we dive deep into the rules of unwritten dynamics and articulations. This book had a massive impact on my style and sound. I highly recommend spending a lot of time with these transcriptions!
